Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

Welcome to Winters Bloom.

These Terms & Conditions explain the terms on which we supply products to you through our website. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

By placing an order with Winters Bloom, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. About Winters Bloom

Winters Bloom is operated by:

Alexandra Russell, trading as Winters Bloom

Email: awinters@wintersbloom.com
Business address: 71 Sutton Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham NG17 8GY, United Kingdom

References in these terms to “Winters Bloom”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the person trading as Winters Bloom.

References to “you” or “your” mean the customer purchasing from us.

UK distance-selling rules require online traders to give customers important information about the business, products, prices, delivery and cancellation rights before the contract is made.

2. Our products

Winters Bloom offers a curated collection which may include:

  • greeting cards and personalised stationery;
  • bookmarks, journals and paper goods;
  • crystals, gemstones and crystal accessories;
  • handmade and hand-finished jewellery and bracelets;
  • wellness and intention products;
  • lip balms and topical aromatherapy products;
  • garden decorations and accessories;
  • suncatchers and hanging decorations;
  • ceramics and home accessories;
  • seed and plantable products;
  • gift sets and bundles; and
  • seasonal gifts and accessories.

Some products are designed, handmade, assembled or personalised by Winters Bloom. Other products are sourced from third-party manufacturers and suppliers.

Our product range may change from time to time.

3. Product descriptions and photographs

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, dimensions and other information shown on our website are accurate.

However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen or device.

Products made from natural materials may also vary from the photographs shown.

This includes products containing:

  • crystals and gemstones;
  • stone;
  • wood;
  • dried flowers or botanicals; and
  • other naturally occurring materials.

Variations in colour, shape, pattern, markings and texture are part of the natural character of these products and will not normally be considered faults.

Handmade and hand-finished products may also have small differences between individual pieces.

Nothing in this section affects your rights where a product is faulty or materially different from its description.

4. Handmade products

Some Winters Bloom products may be handmade, assembled or hand-finished.

Because of the nature of handmade products, minor differences in placement, size, finish or appearance may occur.

These small variations are part of the character of handmade items rather than evidence that the product is defective.

Where we make crystal bracelets or other jewellery by hand, bead colour, pattern and appearance may vary because gemstones are natural materials.

5. Crystals, gemstones and intention products

Winters Bloom may sell products associated with crystals, manifestation, mindfulness, affirmations, gratitude, intention setting or similar wellbeing practices.

Any descriptions of the traditional, spiritual or symbolic meanings associated with crystals or gemstones are provided for interest, lifestyle and enjoyment purposes only.

For example, we may describe a crystal as traditionally being associated with calm, love, confidence, positivity or another intention.

These descriptions are not claims that crystals or gemstones can diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical or psychological conditions.

Crystal and intention products should not be used as a substitute for professional medical or healthcare advice.

Individual experiences and beliefs relating to crystals and wellbeing practices will vary.

6. Wellness products

Some products may be described using words such as:

calm, relax, unwind, uplift, self-care, intention, wellbeing or mindfulness.

These terms describe the theme, fragrance, traditional association or intended lifestyle experience of the product.

They should not be interpreted as medical claims or guarantees of a particular physical or psychological outcome.

7. Lip balms, aromatherapy roll-ons and other cosmetics

Some Winters Bloom products, including lip balms and topical aromatherapy or essential-oil roll-ons, are cosmetic products manufactured and packaged by third-party suppliers.

Customers should always:

  • read the ingredients shown on the product;
  • follow the manufacturer's directions;
  • observe any warnings or precautions;
  • use the product only for its intended purpose; and
  • discontinue use if irritation or an adverse reaction occurs.

Anyone with known allergies or sensitivities should check the ingredient information before using a product.

Where a cosmetic product has been manufactured by a third party, Winters Bloom does not remove, replace or obscure the manufacturer's legally required labelling or safety information.

In Great Britain, cosmetics must have a Responsible Person and distributors have duties including checking specified labelling information and minimum-durability information before making products available. A distributor can take on additional Responsible Person obligations if it labels a cosmetic as its own.

8. Candles & Home Fragrance

Our candles and home fragrance products are intended for use in accordance with the safety and care instructions supplied with each product.

Please always follow the individual product instructions and safety warnings. Never leave a burning candle unattended, keep burning candles away from children, pets, draughts and flammable materials, and place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

Burn times and fragrance strength may vary depending on the product, environment and individual use.

Nothing within these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights in relation to products that are faulty, damaged or not as described.

9. Product safety and intended use

Please use all products only for their intended purpose and follow any care, installation, warning or safety information supplied with them.

Unless expressly described otherwise, decorative items, crystal products, garden ornaments, hanging decorations and jewellery are not toys.

Products containing small parts should be kept away from babies and young children where they may present a choking hazard.

Pointed garden products, including stakes and similar accessories, should be handled and positioned carefully.

Ceramics, glass-effect decorations, suncatchers and other breakable items should be securely positioned and handled with appropriate care.

Hanging products should be attached to a suitable and secure fixing.

A product should only be used outdoors, in a dishwasher, microwave or similar environment where the product description or manufacturer expressly states that it is suitable for that use.

Businesses that manufacture, import, distribute or sell consumer products in the UK have responsibilities relating to product safety.

10. Seed and plantable products

Some Winters Bloom products may contain seeds or plantable materials.

Plant growth and germination depend on conditions outside our control, including:

  • temperature;
  • soil;
  • light;
  • watering;
  • weather;
  • storage; and
  • planting conditions.

For this reason, unless we expressly promise otherwise, successful germination cannot be guaranteed.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the product supplied is faulty or not as described.

11. Personalised products

Some products may be personalised with names, dates, messages or other information supplied by you.

You are responsible for checking the spelling, punctuation and details you provide before placing your order.

We will reproduce the personalisation supplied by you unless we agree otherwise.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you notice an error after ordering.

If production has not yet begun, we will try to make the requested change, but we cannot guarantee that amendments will be possible.

Once production of a personalised or custom-made item has begun, the order cannot normally be cancelled simply because you have changed your mind.

Goods made to a consumer's specification or clearly personalised are among the recognised exceptions to the normal distance-selling cancellation right.

This exception does not affect your rights if we have made an error, or if the product is faulty, damaged or does not match what you ordered.

12. Placing an order

When you place an order through our website, you are offering to purchase the products in your basket.

After placing an order, you should receive an order acknowledgement or confirmation electronically.

We may refuse or cancel an order before dispatch where, for example:

  • the product is unavailable;
  • payment cannot be authorised;
  • there is an obvious pricing or website error;
  • we cannot deliver to the address supplied;
  • we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity; or
  • there is another legitimate reason that means we cannot fulfil the order.

If we cancel an order after taking payment, we will refund the relevant amount.

13. Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling unless the website expressly states otherwise.

Any applicable delivery charge will be shown before you complete your order.

The total amount payable will be displayed at checkout.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure prices are accurate.

If an obvious pricing error occurs, we may contact you to give you the option of purchasing at the correct price or cancelling the affected item.

We will not knowingly charge a different amount from the amount accepted at checkout without your agreement.

14. Discount codes and promotions

From time to time we may offer discounts, promotional codes, competitions or special offers.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
  • only one promotional code may be used per order;
  • promotions may have an expiry date;
  • promotions may apply only to specified products; and
  • offers may be withdrawn or changed before an eligible order has been placed.

Any specific conditions shown alongside a promotion will also apply.

This does not affect orders already accepted at the valid promotional price.

15. Product availability

All products are subject to availability.

Occasionally, an item may become unavailable after an order has been placed.

If this happens, we will contact you and offer an appropriate option, which may include:

  • waiting for restock;
  • choosing an alternative product; or
  • receiving a refund for the unavailable item.

We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement.

16. Delivery

Our current delivery options, charges, estimated dispatch times and free-delivery threshold are explained in our separate Delivery Policy.

Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address.

If you discover an error after ordering, contact us as soon as possible and we will try to correct it before dispatch.

Unless another delivery period has been agreed, UK distance sellers are generally required to deliver goods within 30 days.

Delivery estimates are not guaranteed unless we expressly state that a particular delivery service or date is guaranteed.

If an order is genuinely lost before being delivered to you, please contact us so we can investigate and provide the appropriate remedy.

17. Your right to cancel

For most products purchased online, UK consumers have the right to tell the retailer that they wish to cancel within 14 days after receiving the goods, without needing to provide a reason. The goods then normally need to be returned within a further 14 days.

Winters Bloom also offers the additional returns arrangements described in our Returns & Refund Policy.

To tell us that you wish to cancel or return an eligible product, email:

awinters@wintersbloom.com

18. Exceptions to change-of-mind cancellation

Certain products may be excluded from the normal change-of-mind cancellation right.

These can include:

Personalised products

Products made to your specification or clearly personalised.

Certain sealed hygiene products

Where goods:

  • are sealed;
  • are unsuitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons; and
  • have been unsealed after delivery.

The statutory exception applies to qualifying sealed hygiene goods after they have been unsealed.

We will only rely on this exception where it genuinely applies.

For example, we will not automatically describe every cosmetic product as non-returnable simply because it is a cosmetic.

None of these exclusions affect your rights where goods are faulty, damaged, unsafe or not as described.

19. Gift sets and bundles

Where products are sold together as a Winters Bloom gift set or bundle, the product page will describe what is included.

If you wish to return a complete eligible bundle because you have changed your mind, the complete bundle should normally be returned.

Where one product in a bundle is personalised or qualifies for a statutory hygiene exception, this may affect whether that particular component can be returned for change of mind.

Your rights relating to faulty products remain unaffected.

20. Condition of returned goods

You are entitled to inspect an online purchase in a reasonable way.

For statutory cancellation returns, we may be entitled to make a deduction where goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning and their value has consequently been reduced.

Our separate Returns & Refund Policy explains the return process in more detail.

21. Return postage

For ordinary change-of-mind returns, you will normally be responsible for the direct cost of returning the item, provided we have informed you of this obligation.

Where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise does not conform to your statutory rights, we will deal with reasonable return costs as required by law.

Further details are available in our Returns & Refund Policy.

22. Refunds following cancellation

Where you validly exercise your statutory cancellation right, refunds will be made in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

This normally includes the price of the eligible goods and, where applicable, the cost of the least expensive standard outbound delivery option offered by us.

If you chose a more expensive delivery method, we are not generally required to refund the additional premium above the standard delivery cost.

UK guidance requires qualifying cancellation refunds to be made within the applicable 14-day timeframe, subject to the rules relating to return of the goods or evidence that they have been sent back.

23. Faulty, damaged or incorrect products

If a product arrives:

  • damaged;
  • faulty;
  • incorrect; or
  • materially different from its description,

please contact us at:

awinters@wintersbloom.com

Please provide your order number and, where reasonably possible, photographs showing the issue.

Photographs can help us investigate the problem quickly but do not remove your statutory rights.

Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, the appropriate remedy may include a refund, repair or replacement.

Our voluntary returns policy is additional to your legal rights relating to faulty goods.

24. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, original Winters Bloom content remains the intellectual property of Winters Bloom or its relevant rights holder.

This may include:

  • Winters Bloom branding;
  • logos;
  • original illustrations;
  • greeting-card designs;
  • artwork;
  • product photography;
  • website photographs;
  • written descriptions;
  • graphics; and
  • other original creative material.

You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, sell or commercially exploit our original content without permission.

Third-party trademarks, packaging, product imagery and designs remain the property of their respective owners.

25. Reviews and customer content

If you voluntarily provide a review, photograph or other content to Winters Bloom, you remain responsible for ensuring you have the right to provide it.

We will not knowingly publish unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or infringing material.

We will ask for permission before using identifiable customer photographs for unrelated promotional purposes where permission is required.

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

26. Website availability

We aim to keep our website available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always operate without interruption or technical errors.

We may occasionally:

  • perform maintenance;
  • update the design;
  • change products or collections;
  • correct errors; or
  • temporarily restrict parts of the website.

Any website changes do not affect contracts already entered into with customers.

27. Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for failure or delay caused solely by circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control where the law permits this.

This might include serious postal disruption, extreme weather or major infrastructure failure.

Where such an event affects your order, we will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed and minimise the disruption.

Nothing in this clause removes any statutory right you have to cancel or obtain a refund where applicable.

28. Our liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

In particular, we do not exclude or restrict liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Section 65 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 prevents a trader from excluding or restricting liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence.

Subject to your statutory rights, we are not responsible for damage or loss caused by:

  • deliberate misuse of a product;
  • using a product for something it was not designed for;
  • failing to follow clearly provided safety or care instructions; or
  • modifications made to a product after delivery that we did not authorise.

This clause does not attempt to exclude responsibility where the law makes Winters Bloom responsible.

29. Personal information

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Please refer to that policy for information about what personal information we collect, why we use it and your rights.

30. Complaints

We want customers to have a positive experience with Winters Bloom.

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first so that we have the opportunity to resolve it.

You can contact us at:

awinters@wintersbloom.com

Please include your order number where relevant.

31. Changes to these Terms & Conditions

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example where:

  • our product range changes;
  • our website changes;
  • our business practices change; or
  • applicable laws or regulations change.

The terms applicable to your purchase will be the version in force when you place your order.

32. If part of these terms is unenforceable

If a court or other competent authority finds that one part of these Terms & Conditions is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

33. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law applicable to you.

Nothing in these terms is intended to prevent you from bringing proceedings in a court available to you under applicable consumer law.
